HOW TO PREPARE YOUR HOME FOR WINTER PHOTOGRAPHY

It is time to prepare your home for winter photography. Between the holiday decorations and the winter weather, preparing your house to have Real Estate photos and video taken is a little different than normal. Ideally you would remove all the holiday decorations, but if you can’t remove all of your decorations, clean the rooms and make sure that everything is in order.

Here are a few tips to prepare your home for seasonal photography:

Outside:

  • Clean up all leaves and branches from your yard
  • Remove any weeds or overgrown/dead plants
  • Paint any peeling paint on your home’s exterior
  • Turn off holiday lights
  • Shovel the front walk and any access points

Inside:

  • Vacuum any Christmas tree needles and clean any pet hair
  • Wash windows and wipe down counters
  • Remove any large decorations
  • Remove garland from your mantel

The most important reason for considering these tips is because you don’t know who will buy your home. In general, we want the home to be dressed enough so people can imagine themselves living in it, but especially knowing that we all celebrate different holidays, we don’t want to overwhelm the space with anything that could detour people from viewing and touring it.

If you can’t remove everything, don’t worry! We always work with you and your agent to capture the best angles of every space – that’s why you work with us! Stress-free, easy to work with, and quality media that will get you top dollar quickly. If you haven’t already, check out our Success Stories to see what we’re talking about!
